Due to a material that is no longer manufactured, Sophia's is temporarily unavailable. SMC is hard at work researching, testing and developing a new formula and promises to bring a bright, purple raku glaze back-better than ever!

A striking, deeply colorful raku glaze. Sohia's Purple Lustre runs from a deep purple to a dark metallic blue. It breaks and highlights surface texture on your piece. Colors will vary based on reduction time, substrate (newspaper, wood shavings, etc.) and cold-water finishing.

Application tips: Apply one (1) dipped coat or 3 brushed coats on clay that has been bisque-fired to Cone 04 (glaze application should be slightly heavier than the thickness of a dime). We always recommend rinsing your bisqueware with clean water a few minutes prior to glazing. This will encourage better glaze adhesion and a smoother application. Always allow adequate drying time between coats or layering glazes. DOES NOT CONTAIN LEAD.
