What's the difference?

Why several raku clay bodies? Because all work styles, and all clay artists, do not always like the same clay. Our 251 Raku (while still very plastic) is a little stiffer, and has a bit more texture. Raku C is a little more coarse, ideal for larger/wider pieces (mainly handbuilt). Which raku body is right for you?

RAKU

Did you know...
All of our raku clays are designed to be universal bodies. While they are specifically formulated to withstand the thermal shock of raku firing, they can also be fired using a variety of other styles. When kept at a lowfire, the bodies will appear white. When fired to Cone 6, the bodies will appear off-white-and will be vitreous. This means our raku bodies, when used correctly, are suitable for dinnerware. Enjoy the freedom-create your pieces now, decide how to fire them later!
